I have crunchbang and I can't find how to change it. I talked to a buddy of mine and he can't find it in his openbox session either but wants to know too because it's practical and seems like something openbox should do since it's a light weight environment. Just to be clear I want to make it so only a window frame will show when you drag a window in openbox.

So it just doesn't exist. That sucks.

Indeed it's surprising Openbox doesn't support this..
If you don't mind a little work you can always install Fluxbox (http://fluxbox.org/), it does support this.

JWM does too. It works very nicely in Puppy. But which environments are the lightest?

JWM < Fluxbox < LXDE < XFCE < Gnome < KDE?
