Hello Everyone,

I have installed on my Ubuntu 10.10 OS via my laptop MS Office 2011 using wine.

The trouble that I am experiencing is that when trying to install MS Office 2003 to my Pc/ Non-laptop computer with Wine I keep getting the error if I double click setup.exe in the MS Office 2003 CD

"Archive: /media/OFFICE11/setup.exe
[/media/OFFICE11/setup.exe]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /media/OFFICE11/setup.exe or
/media/OFFICE11/setup.exe.zip, and cannot find /media/OFFICE11/setup.exe.ZIP, period.
"

Now if I run by right clicking and selecting, "Open with Wine Windows Program Loader" I get the following error,

"Settings file Z:\media\OFFICE11\FILES
SETUP\setup.ini is missing or invalid. Please ensure this file exist and is accessible."

I have seen many tutorials online but all of them require modifying .DLL's in Wine and none of them have worked so far.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks again and long live Linux, Long Live Ubuntu.

Update: This is a legal copy of, "Microsoft Office 2003: Student and Teacher Edition 2003", installing via CD.

Don't know the details, but I have read that there are major problems trying to get MS office 2010 to co-exist with other, older versions of MS office.

You just might have to complete remove MS office 2010 first.
