After logging into 10.10, the blank desktop displays with the wait mouse pointer and never gets any further.
The icons never paint. Wait pointer never goes away. Can only wait for screen to lock and then select shutdown / restart on login screen lower right menu.
Can get to Alt-F1 terminal window.
Ran
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
ran fine, but still have same problem with desktop.
Problem started when I tried to run Wine install script for StarCraft II and it aborted with disk space error.
Is there a "start up" script that runs when the desktop loads? Can I edit it to see what is hanging up?
