Thought this was interesting news:

Melbourne hacker releases open source Django apps (http://www.cio.com.au/article/380246/melbourne_hacker_releases_open_source_django_apps/)

The two apps covered are:

1) Mezzanine (http://mezzanine.jupo.org/), a content management system.

2) Cartridge, a shopping cart.
Mezzanine and Cartridge might help Python to become more popular. On the Mezzanine website, there's a link to a live demo where you can log in as an admin and check out the dashboard. It has some e-commerce features built-in, like creating product descriptions and discount codes. The project looks promising.

Does anyone know of other great apps built with Python/Django? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is OpenShot, the video editing program.

What do you guys think?
