Evening all, first time poster.

I have ubuntu 10.10 on my desktop and after a few months I encountered the No init found busybox console screen on reboot.

I surfed around and found what i thought was a solution, to boot off of Suse and run fsck -y /dev/sda1. This fixed the problem however it has slowly gotten worse over time by the same message popping back up every so often. Now it is popping up almost daily and I have to do a fsck on my harddrive to get my box back up.

Does this sound like a bad harddrive. If so what is a proper way for me to back up my computer. I honestly have everything setup how i want it now lol. Have evolution as well as my ssh tunnels. Thanks for the help in advance!
