Customising top panel

I am unable to shift my indicator applet status to the far right because the wireless and power icons are there? How do I customise the icons on the panel. I've tried removing and adding but it doesn't seem to work.

Right-click on some of the other applets to see if any of them are "locked". You have to unlock an applet before you can move it, either directly or push it around between other applets.

Also, for a lot of applets like the indicator applet and the taskmanager, you can't click on the applet items themselves since they dynamically expand and contract depending on how many are there. There is a small separator on the left/top edge of these applets that you can right-click (sometimes you have to double right-click) to move the applet.
