Dual monitor though network

So, i got a desktop and a laptop, i'd like to use the same keyboard/mouse for both computer, in the same way i would do with a separate x screen if both monitor would be on the same computer (but both computer fully independant beside the input sharing) i tried google but, not much result

There is a free tool used by both linux and windows. The tool is SYNERGY, you can check it out. I was also using this tool before

Agreed synergy or quicksynergy(gui version) are good tools. I use them for my home theater setup.
