I see from the community documentation it's not been updated since December:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Burg

I'll admit that I just don't like it and never have so I'm biased. But the ppa instructions don't even include ppa-purge instructions:

https://launchpad.net/~bean123ch/+archive/burg?field.series_filter=maverick

I'm asking because I'm thinking of suggesting a "deep & dirty" grub 2 purge option to drs305's HowTo:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1581099

I first posted it here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10562947&postcount=31

But it ended up being unnecessary as only replacing "30_os-prober" worked out.

I'm just curious what steps should be added to that if BURG has been used at any point

I'm two hours short of a full day but thought I'd give this a bump to see if some fresh eyes have any comments regarding BURG :)

From what I can see so far "ppa-purge" should work if needed and simply removing the burg packages and reinstalling grub 'per norm' should suffice to get back to pure grub 2.

My biggest reason for requesting your input is, as I stated above, I'm biased because I just don't like BURG. Well, there are lots of things I don't like, but just because I don't like something doesn't mean it's not good - or even GREAT!

Just think how boring *buntu would be if there were only one flavor, or if there were only one flavor of Linux, or - worst of all - if Windows were the only OS :lolflag:
