View Full Version : From a technical standpoint, how good is Arrandale?

Since I'm booted into Windows right now as I am probably going to play some Borderlands later on, I decided to fire up the ultra-useful CPU-Z and look at some more detailed technical aspects of my laptop than what the default Windows (and for that matter, Ubuntu) utilities tell me. Here's what it reported for my CPU:

I am already well-aware of what my PC is capable of as it has already been under situations that would cause any other PC (e.g. my old one, or the one before that) to BSOD like nothing happened, but how good is the Arrandale chipset from a technical standpoint BEYOND maybe just gaming and high-end multimedia? I would like to know the capabilities of my laptop for more than just two things :lol:

And no, I'm not planning on overclocking it as it can already overclock itself to 2.80GHz, but if it becomes pertinent (like something that requires a clock speed over 3GHz in the next few years or so) maybe I will.

Frankly I don't understand what your question is, or what kind of answer you are looking for. You already have lots of specs there to compare with other CPU:s and can easily get more with a wikipedia search:
