View Full Version : [ubuntu] How do I dualboot using images?

I'm new to this and I'm sorry if this is posted elsewhere, but I can't seem to figure it out.
I bought a 500gig HD for my laptop to replace my 250. I used clonezilla to image my ubuntu installation. I previously imaged an xp installation (also with clonezilla) last year and am trying to establish a dual-boot using both image files but with larger partitions. I first attempted to use gparted to set up a framework to restore into, but couldn't seem to make a ext4 and ntfs setup work. I've looked around but can only find instructions for setting up an XP dualboot with a fresh windows install. So in short I have two questions-

How do I set up dualboot using images instead of installs?
and
How do I restore images to partitions of a larger size?

Many thanks to anyone who responds!
