Can't get Caffeine to work.

Because screensaver gets on my movie watching, I decided to install caffeine on my Kubuntu 10.10. The problem is I can't get it to work. Caffeine preferences is present in my menu but I if i click on that menu there is no reaction whatsoever.
How will I proceed with troubleshooting?
Any alternatives?

I installed Caffeine on several lucid lynx 32bit system. No probs whatsoever.

personally I've just disabled screensaver and use lock-screen for having a break...

Thanks dirty_harry. I have a 64bit kubuntu and a GT-240 video card.
On several occasions my system hanged whenever I disable my screensaver.
Anyway, just used my 32bit lynx for watching, no problems encountered just like you.
