I'm installing Ubuntu 10.10 on my HP Laptop, what Ubuntu 10.10 version is the most suitable for my laptop, Ubuntu Netbook or Ubuntu Desktop? :D

Desktop, the netbook is well.... you have to experience it I guess. Burn a cd of each one and try them out.

I'm using the desktop version on my HP laptop.

The netbook version is geared for the cramped screen space of small netbooks, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on a laptop as well.

It's a matter of preference, really.

The netbook CD has both desktops available after it is installed. After you click on your name on the login screen you can choose which desktop to use in the bottom panel.

The netbook CD does not have desktop effects if you use the standard Gnome desktop. So if you don't want the eye candy you only need to download one CD.

I prefer the standard Gnome desktop on my netbook.

...thanks guys! I downloaded both Netbook and Desktop editions of the Ubuntu 10.10 linux distro. I installed the Netbook edition on my HP Laptop and it works fine! I love it. I have not yet tried the Desktop edition.
