I went off the OFFICIAL instructions per ubuntu website.

Downloaded the "ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386.iso" and the "Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.3.5.exe"

Ran the tool and when trying to boot the flash drive on my Lenovo S10-3 netbook. It stalls at.

[ 6.808993] [drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810m 1.1.0 20060810

Any ideas here?, I have tried reformatting the drive and reinstalling the .iso onto it 3 times so far.

Try unetbootin, you can use the downloaded ISO with it.

OK Thanks... I have done that, however this time I reach the boot menu and I select the "Try Ubuntu without installation" option......the screen will flash once and nothing happens....seems like it freezes at that point.

BUMP...

Any other ideas guys?? Give up?

Just a mild question, is there a specific file format I need to have the flash drive in? From googling, I have found mostly it says to have it as FAT. Also I am using a 16gb flash drive, I know it sounds silly, but is this overkill?

I would really love to get back into Linux now that I am taking an Administration Linux class in school right now.
