View Full Version : [ubuntu] how can I replace grub-1.98 instead of grub 1.97

hi everyone, please i need some ur help.. i wanna install GRUB-1.98 in my UBUNTU9.10, .... u know 9.10 comes included with GRUB 1.97 beta... but I wanna do a grub-mkpasswd-pbkdf2 and I can't......due it I want to install GRUB 1.98... well.. the case is I already installed GRUB1.98 and I could do grub-mkpasswd-pbkdf2 but it doesn't work ..... cuz when I'm gonna enter WITH "E" just appear a scrren when I can write but mi login user and my pass doesnt appear..! I imagine this situation is due to GRUB-PC is still 1.97 and I wanna change it ..pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee someone who helps me!!pleaseeeeeeeee I getting crazy with this situation... coz.. my partners.. are wondering when I'm gonna finish with it.. pleaseeeeee

hi everyone... please I need your support...look!.. i need to do a grub-mkpasswd-pbkdf2 but my OS is UBUNTU 9.10 and that comes with GRUB 1.97 beta, so I need to install GRUB 1.98, I've already installed it and done the mkpass too... by it dosen't work well.. the case is I wanna install grub-common and GRUB-pc 1.98 too. but I can't... how can I do this.. pelase help me!!.......
pelase how can I uninstall all GRUB an Install all newly.. pleaseee.. don't ignoore my doubt.. I'm getting crazy with it...! .. I imagine u already noticed I'm not an expert.. ... actually I'm a rookie..!
