When i connect a new device to my laptop and turn it on, that device works fine (e.g. mouse or external hard disk). Now my problem is, if i turn my laptop on and go into ubuntu and then decide to connect a device, then the device is not recognised by the system. Its like it doesn't search to see if there is something new connected to the usb ports. In order to make it work, i restart the whole system. Is there any solution? how can i force it to check if there is something connected and make it work?
thanks in advance
