Roaming profiles

Guys... am looking at planning a project which will use ubuntu desktop and server with roaming profiles just like in a windows environment. Basically users will be allowed to login from any ubuntu desktop and see the same profile no matter what workstation is used.Has anyone done this with linux and can anyone plase point me in the right direction?
