Oi. Some days it just doesn't pay to play with computers.
- Clean install of Windows XP and Ubuntu 10.10 from flashdrive onto two separate physical drives. (250GB and 200GB)
- Wipped all partitions and did full formats to NTFS on both drives from the XP install menu.
- Installed XP first on the 250GB drive, then Ubuntu 10.10 on the 200GB drive.
- At the end of the Ubuntu install... got a whole whack of I/0 errors when it went to restart.
- On restart... the system simply hangs where the GRUB loader should show up.
How odd. I've done this several times before with no problem at all. So I tried to reinstall the GRUB2 from my liveCD.
- followed one of the popular 'reinstalling GRUB2' tuts that google gave me.
- got the following...
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

So... this is new and disturbing. My embedding area is unusually small? Crap. How did that happen?

I'm really starting to hate my life at this point. I've reinstalled this exact configuration several times and never had a problem before. It seems I'm in way over my head now so... HELP!
Could someone throw me a fricking bone here? thanks.

I'm really starting to hate my life at this point. I've reinstalled this exact configuration several times and never had a problem before. It seems I'm in way over my head now so... HELP!
Could someone throw me a fricking bone here? thanks.
