Hi,
After I updated language-selector and language-selector-common packages this morning, my locale was changed from EN:UTF-8 to EN:iso-8859-1. Since I enable automatic login, I wasn't aware for some time.
If you encounter this problem, you might see perl error like one in this topic: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1346581
The procedures in the topic above might remove perl errors, but it's not a root cause. You have to once logout, and re-login with an appropriate locale; EN:UTF-8.
Cheers,
Mikiya
