Ubuntu 10.10
Skype version 2.1 Beta
The menu options are in black color and can be viewed properly.

How to rectify it.

I do not understand the problem. Can you send a screenshot so I know what is wrong.

Login to your skype account first, then go to the small blue icon bottom left of the skype window, choose Options from there, and you will be able to set up things as you wish.

Another thing.
I am using Dreamweaver (through Wine) for the HTML web pages.
There also the file names are hidden behind the black color.
