Hello

I used to run a Dapper Drake LAMP server, but haven't had much to do with Ubuntu (or linux) since then. I've recently bought an Acer Aspire One and have put the netbook remix on that as it is a lot more friendly than Win 7 starter.

I'm just taking on some project management of a campaign in my spare time and am looking for some software to help me out. I am looking for a piece of software that will let track tasks, deliverables, and resources. Does anyone have any recommendations? (Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I didn't think any of the others were suited...)

http://www.dotproject.net/ is a web based php script which can be hosted for the price of a domain name here (http://www.freevirtualservers.com) If you don't want to run a local lamp server

I can confirm it works with chrome,firefox,ie8 and androids mobile browser.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. I should probably make it clear that I'm also willing to look at non-web based solutions as it will only be me that needs to see the plan.

I've used GanttProject before (desktop software).
I have to say, as someone who doesn't have a background in project management, I didn't find it particularly easy to use, but it did get the job done.
The majority of open source options tend to be server-based.

I use openproj to read and write MS Project files.

Hello guys! If you're still trying to make a decision of which project management software to use, then this article might help you: http://www.timedoctor.com/blog/2011/02/02/43-project-management-software-alternatives

It speaks of the reviews of the various management software in the web today. It also has a comparison table which compares essential features of each project management software as well price, compatibilities and more.

One of the software I've used was basecamp. It's one of the most popular software that is being widely used. Well I've find it simple to use - might be the reason why others are also using it.

Latest version can be installed as a binary blob (through a bitnami stack) on Dapper Drake.

You can try a project management software package called Latitude (http://www.latibiz.com/) - it offers features that you mentioned or you can check this comparison table of the various project management software packages: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_project_management_software

Hi mate,

I can just recommend you to look over workforcetrack.

workforcetrack allows you to track the entire business.

besides, this software is supported on android and ipone. integrated with other application.

Probably, The most significant aspect is the price. just comparing it with other SaaS, i've concluded that workforcetrack offrers universal all-in-one project management software at reasonable price while others sell each tool at a different prices.

You can find full information at http://www.workforcetrack.com/

Good luck!
