I got access to my Kubuntu installation, but I only have limited (mainly terminal and dolphin) access.
I'm trying to copy my important files to a zip drive so I can reinstall. Sadly, for some reason kubuntu suddenly thinks my zip drive is a "read only" drive and won't let me copy any files to it or delete any files on it. I tried running it in terminal as sudo, tried sudo rm -rf, and it still told me that it was a read-only drive. :( sheesh i'm root! How do I get kubuntu to copy stuff to this drive???? Thanks

If this zip drive uses removable cartridges, did you by any chance slip the read-only slider on the cartridge and not realize it?

Just a thought.

If that is not the issue, please post your /etc/fstab file in your next post.
