The great thing about this image is that it can be tiled multiple times vertically and horizontally and the whole thing will appear seamless!

Years ago (in the days of single processors) someone told me that a computer works a bit like you turning on and off a light switch millions of times per second.

I suppose, as we now have dual core processors, the analogy is that you are turning off two light switches on and off millions of times per second using both hands!!

Pretty accurate description really, as we all know the computer deals in binary - switching on and off electrical circuits very fast.
