Hi,

I installed ubuntu 10.10 next to Windows Vista, but grub2 labels the windows install as "Windows Recovery Environment" and the recovery as "Windows Vista". I knew how to change it with the old grub, but I haven't found a solution for this problem with grub 2 on the forums.

Any ideas?

Thx,

Timmmy

Timmmy,

Welcome to the Ubuntu forums. :-)

I wrote a Grub 2 Tweaks guide but it's pretty geeky stuff. If you are interested in editing the Grub2 scripts to rename a title, see Section 7 of the "Tweaks" link in my signature line.

Much easier, you can rename it via a GUI Grub2 editor, Grub Customizer. The link to that guide is also in my signature line, "Customizer".
