View Full Version : [ubuntu] Aptitude recommendations on ssh login missing

Hi,
I run a headless NAS/media server running Ubuntu 10.04 server. I normally administer it via ssh and webmin. I recently configured sshd to use keys and refuse password logins. That works fine, but now an odd behaviour has come up...
Previously, when logging in via username and password I'd be greeted with an aptitude message listing available recommended upgrades. Since switching that login message is gone. I assume there's a simple setting to change to get it back but I can't find it. I've ran aptitude directly and on first start it gave package recommendations, including downgrades, but without installing them and after naviagating around a bit subsequent startups don't show recommendations and I can't find them in the menu system.

Any suggestions on a solution is appreciated.
