Ubuntu Cafe is for general chatter.
The Backyard allows for some more controversial topics--politics, religion, etc.

Aaah!
Perhaps we should have some descriptions on the webpages.
I posted something non-controversial in The Backyard. I would probably get a bigger audience, and a response if I posted in Ubuntu Cafe.
thanks.

Hmm, maybe I'll go out to the backyard and complain about my drm experience today.

for some threads, the cafe is kind of like birth and life, while the backyard is kind of like a nursing home and death.

Or the cafe is a couple of drinks in the bar, then someone spills yours and it's out to the backyard for a good old fashioned brawl.
