Instalation won't go further

Hello I'm trying to unstall Ubuntu 10.4 in a hd from a live Cd.
The problem that I have is that even though I can reach the menu screen when I select even the options Install or Use without changes the sistem shows the ubuntu logo page with the little dots below changin colors but It won't go any further. If someone could point me into the right direction or tell me if this problem is solved in another post It would be very helpfull

Try using the 'nomodeset' boot parameter.

If that doesn't work, try the acpi=off parameter. There are 6 of them actually under the F6 menu and you need to try all of them, one-by-one.
