Lower panel: Magic or anomaly?

Hi. I am using Maverick, and whenever I right-click on my lower panel (with the hide-window and switch workspace buttons), the selection in the list-box that springs up starts flickering. Not that I am particularly bugged about it, but just curious if that was meant to be a visual-effect or is it an anomaly.

Definitely an anomaly. I imagine it's either a video driver issue expressing itself in a very strange way or something unique to that panel - you could remove it and replace it to see if the problem persists.
