I'm wandering if anybody has stumbled upon this. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala on a Dell Studio laptop. The issue is with Gnome-power-manager version 2.28.1. Sometimes when I put my laptop to stand-by and than resume, the power manager doesn't show the correct battery status. It shows only that the power jack is plugged in, and it stays that way until I reboot. I can even read the correct battery status from a virtual machine!
After a reboot, everything is back to normal and the power manager is showing the status correctly.
Today I checked with conky that I can read the battery status and percentage correctly, even though the power manager is still showing that the power jack is plugged in. Very rearly I get this behaviour after hybernation.
Any ideas on that?

After upgrading to 11.10 this issue seems to be resolved...
