hi i have a 500 gb external portable harddrive. what i want to do is install three different operating systems onto it that i can boot any computer into. to do this i would have to partition the drive. i tried creating three partitions of 20gb each and the fourth contained the left over memory. they were all primary partitions. on each of the three smaller partitions i was going to install an operating system. well i booted my desktop computer via the ubuntu 10.10 install disc and tried to install it to one of the 20gb partitions. it said something about no file system was there. how would i go about doing this?
