Im trying to get compiz desktop wall plugin to not slide my current window when I hit ctrl+left (or right). I want it to have the same functionality of switching desktops as the workspace switcher applet which doesn't drag my current window to the next desktop when I click on it.

Theres a field called Non-Sliding Windows under the viewport switching tab on CCSM (CompizConfig Settings Manager) which I can't get to work and couldn't find any documentation on it. Im running 10.10 64bit

It's in the Desktop Wall plugin settings. You need to set those keybindings to the right action. "Move Within Wall" and "Move With Window Within Wall" are two different actions.
