Ubuntu 7.10 Issues

I can not get my Averatec 3200 series to get online and some tech person at geek squad told me I might need a network card but, to be sure I would have to bring it in and as you guessed I would need to pay $60 just find out what is wrong then an additional $30 or more depending on the issue.

I don't mean to be problematic it's just a money issue which I don't have much. If I knew what to do I would do it. I am a do it yourself kind of guy so, was an exciting venture course now it is like driving with a blindfold.

First of all: Ubuntu 7.10 is obsolete (and even when it was new, it didn't support wirefree cards well).

Best is to begin with a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 or 10.10.
