Try Inkscape in the Ubuntu Software Center. It's supposed to have been based off of Corel.
Also, you really don't need an anti-virus for Ubuntu. It's hard to hack Linux systems, so probably the best thing to do is to get one of the firewalls in the Software Center, and configure it (example: don't accept pings or ftp requests or login requests etc. from all IP addresses or all but your own).

There is clam AV in the software center and Avast and AVG have Linux editions as well .
I will leave the Linux security talk to someone else today , but suggest reading the sticky in security discussions forum.

At first I was using Clam and avast antivirus for my linux OS but later I realised why am I using it if I had my firewall closed.
