Seems like my keyboard shortcuts (System > preferences > Keybard shortcuts) got messed up after I installed "CompizConfig Settings manager"

E.g, my PrintScreen button refuses to take a screenshot of my desktop even though it's defined in Keyboard Shortcuts.

Also, since this was a Vista computer from the beginning (poor thing ) I have the regular Windows-button, I want to use the combination <Super>D to minimize all and show the desktop. Again, this is defined in Shortcuts but still wont work.

Halp? :)

Check ccsm > Gnome compatability > commands is enabled and you have the correct settings.
Hit the button on the far right to set back to default.

Show the desktop you'll find under ccsm > general options > key bindings

Finally! :KS

Although, I can only take a screenshot when I have some kind of window open..

Might like to give shutter a try.
Gives a lot more options for screenshots.
Allows you to annotate your screenshots
Search in software center.
