I have, in vain, tried to run or install Ubuntu Netbook Edition on an Asus Eeepc 1001PX.
I have downloaded ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386.iso and checked its md5sum, set up the installation media to both an USB-stick and a SD memory card using Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.3.3.exe and the Ubuntu Startup Disk Creator.
Every time I get the same result in Casper.log:

Begin: Running /scripts/casper-premount ... done.
done.
stdin: error 0
mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: Invalid argument
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

The Asus already has an Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop which was easily installed using the same procedure.

What can I do?

I'm in a similar position, but I'm already running Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix on a EEE. I'm trying to like Netbook Remix but already I really hate some of its behavior. I created a 9.04 USB install using Startup Disk Creator, but the netbook doesn't see the USB card when I boot.

I'm going to try downloading the 10.10 iso and see if that works, I just haven't had time yet.
