View Full Version : [ubuntu] Installation Failure (CD and USB)

I downloaded the newest ubuntu distribution and burned it to a CD...I got to the menu and selected install, it went to the Ubuntu logo and the dots, thought for a long time and then nothing. Goes blank.

Used the USB installer and it went to the CBIOS boot: prompt. couldn't do anything with that.

Have no idea how to install this thing, not impressed so far....

Have no idea how to install this thing, not impressed so far....Tryinstalling with the "Alternate" CD instead (you'll find the image in the same place as the one you already have). For any more specific advice you need to say something about your hardware and which version you were trying to install (you say newest - do you mean 10.10 or 11.04 - 11.04 is a bad idea at this stage).
