Hi there guys , Iv'e got a Compaq Evo N6000c , basicly a PIII 1.0Ghz 384 Mb ram and lol.... the Origonal Mobility Radeon . Any way Iv'e been trying to install 32bit ubuntu 10.10 , first from the live cd which failed then from the alternative disk which fails at 1 % on "select and install sofware" bring up a red background and notification , cannot install grub 2 or legacy grup as it can not find the target folder. I gave the installer free range of the Gigantic 20gb hardrive using the guided install.

Please help any suggestions welcome ..

Welcome to the forums :-)

You RAM is lower than the recommended specs.

I would recommend to try a light-weight Ubuntu fork i.e, Lubuntu.

Once downloaded, run an MD5SUM check on the image to make sure it is healthy and then try installation.
