Hello, I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and Vista 64bit in a dual boot grub across multiple drives configuration, as both os's have their own drives. I am a noob in linux, so here is my question:

On my Vista drive all my personal files, music, videos, ect. reside in the c:/USERS/Antknee folder however Ubuntu sees this location as /media/CC36B9FB36B9E71C/Users.

On my Ubuntu drive I have copied all the files from /media/CC36B9FB36B9E71C/Users that were relevant to my /home folder ie. documents, music, videos ect.

Since I still use windows for some applications but I share data between Ubuntu and Vista is there a way to sync the users folder in windows to my Ubuntu drive? they have the same folders and files for the most part, I just want to update Ubuntu with what work I did in Vista, with out having to do I all manually.

any help would be appricated.

Thanks

Antknee

Howdy,

Rsync is your friend. Read the man page - it has complete examples.

You can also get rsync for Windows in Cygwin.
