View Full Version : [ubuntu] Karmic remove "Not Responding" panel

I need to remove the panel in Karmic that says a program is not responding.

This only happens in a certain software, and I do NOT need to fix any bugs in the software, only remove the panel.

I assume I'll need to edit some sort of package, I need to know what package this panel is contained in.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums :-)

By panels I hope you mean the bars at the top and bottom of your desktop.

You want to completely remove both of them? If only one, you can right click and choose 'delete panel'.

Or if an app becomes un-responsive, you can restart the panels by pressing Alt + F2 and

killall gnome-panel

Sorry for not explaining this too well.

I need to remove a panel which has the message "Not Responding" when a program is not responding.

TIA

Do you mean a panel or an icon? Does the whole panel hang up when a certain program is not responding?

Perhaps, a screenshot would better describe the problem if possible.
