i am a newbie.

i recently installed 10.04 lts on my envy 14 beats edition notebook.

my sound card is not recognised on my system, but when i run off my live cd it works fine. i have no idea what i did wrong on my system and ive been going crazy trying to fix it.

i tried to use my livecd as my repository source and reinstall the alsa packages but it gives me some error. somebody please help me.

Have you tried..

System->Administration->Additional Drivers

To see if your sound card is listed? Hope this helps.
