I'm running Kubuntu 10.10 64-bit on an AMD platform, dual-boot with a windows 7 partition on my boot disk. All was well with the stock kernel 2.6.35-25-generic, but after compiling kernel 2.6.37.1 the option to boot Windows 7 has disappeared from the grub menu and I can't get it back.
My system has several disks, but boots from /dev/sdc, which is a solid-state disk. I did sudo grub-mkconfig, sudo update-grub and sudo grub-install /dev/sdc after installing the new kernel, but it isn't picking up the Windows 7 partition, which is /dev/sdc3 (I thought that was supposed to happen automatically using os-prober?). Linux itself boots fine with the new kernel.
I ran the boot_info_script055.sh and my RESULTS.txt follows. I'd appreciate insight as to what's wrong and how to fix ... Gus

=============================== StdErr Messages: ===============================
umount: /tmp/BootInfo1/sdd1: device is busy.
(In some cases useful info about processes that use
the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))
My system has several disks, but boots from /dev/sdc, which is a solid-state disk. I did sudo grub-mkconfig, sudo update-grub and sudo grub-install /dev/sdc after installing the new kernel, but it isn't picking up the Windows 7 partition, which is /dev/sdc3 (I thought that was supposed to happen automatically using os-prober?). Linux itself boots fine with the new kernel.
I ran the boot_info_script055.sh and my RESULTS.txt follows. I'd appreciate insight as to what's wrong and how to fix ... Gus
