Visual Effects working yesterday not today.

Hello, I am running Ubuntu 10.10. Yesterday my visual effects were working fine (wobbly windows ect). Today I booted up my computer and they are no longer working. ALSO they cannot be enabled anymore. I have not had a hardware change either. I am using a laptop with a built in ATI card. I don't recall disabling anything either...

Was there any revision to the normal graphics system done 2-25-2011?
