A Canon 9000F scanner is offered to me, but I do not know if it is supported. I have Maverick. Has anyone experience with this scanner?

You could have search the forum first:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1546504&highlight=9000F

Otherwise check my site:
https://sites.google.com/site/ubuntulinuxgebruiker/canon-drivers
There are 2 links given to a Europian support site and Australian support site for Canon drivers.

Thank you for response.
I will definitely NOT buy the Canon 9000F scanner!
Actually I am looking for a high quality scanner for negatives and slides. I was trying the sane system for supported scanners, but do not know how to get a list.

You can check wether HP or Epson has the rigth hardware for your intentions.
Especially HP normally works out of the box. Epson does too, but maybe the newer models do need an updated driver, i am not sure.

Thanks so far.
I saw on the Epson site that they have many linux drivers for their scanners; even for the different distributions.
I can make my choice now. Niels

I have the Epson V33... you might like the updated V330.

The drivers were downloaded from a site that supports Epson with both .rpm and .deb drivers. Works beautifully!

Do a search in this forum for Epson scanners.
