I recently installed Ubuntu from the minimal ISO, so I wouldn't get all the extra unnecessary crap, but I'm having trouble finding some things:
The user switcher: How do I get that "power" icon in the top-right of the main Gnome toolbar? indicator-session package
Hibernation and standby: How do I get these back?
Restricted drivers: I used to have, under System->Administration, a way of checking for restricted drivers. How do I get this?
Nicely-named network interfaces: My network interfaces used to be called intelligble things; now my ethernet is called ifupdown
