Hey Guys --

I'm looking at setting-up a Ku Band FTA system and just curious if anyone else does this. Thus far I'm not sure what receiver I'd run with, but I'd like a 36" dish (no room for a BUD) with a motor to pick-up as many sats as possible.

If you've never heard of FTA television it's a neat concept, and for anyone wanting to cut cable it's a great way to get national and international content at no monthly cost.

But for folks who do run one, what's your setup and which stations/sats do you tune in the most?

Off topic, but you may want to build your own over the air antenna to get local channels.

I used an FTA system when I used to live back in Toronto.
I wasn't impressed.

When it comes to a receiver, you should buy the cheapest system (if possible). Usually unencrypted channels dont require much system ram.
