View Full Version : [SOLVED] SK-7100 IR keyboard, mouse not working

I've searched other threads and think this is the right place to post this. I've got a SK-7100 IR keyboard/mouse combination device (great picture of it here: http://archive2.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=745934) and the keyboard shows up as an option under System -> Preferences -> Keyboard -> Layouts. All that works fine (Ubuntu desktop 10.10). However, I can't get the "joystick" &/or mouse buttons to work! I've seen other posts on this forum (most notably http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=27039&highlight=SK-7100) but they discuss getting the multimedia & extra function keys to work, not the joystick/mouse buttons. I'd really love to get this fully working; a wireless keyboard with a wired mouse kind of defeats the purpose. Anyone have any experience with this keyboard?

Solved! For any of you having the same issues, this solution works in Ubuntu 10.10 as well (and yes, you do need to install the gpm package). http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9188246
