Hello,

I'm writing from my brand new Asus 1015PEM running Windows 7 Starter...

Problem: I can't just try Ubuntu Netbook (already put on pendrive) just because when I switch the netbook on, I don't see any "Press F2 to..." "Press F12 to..."... It just goes straight and the first thing I see is the Microsoft loading bar.

How to try Ubuntu on this netbook?

Presumably you've tried booting it with the pendrive plugged in?

Other frequently used "boot menu" keys include F8, F10 and F11

Safe computing.

Your "brand new Asus 1015PEM" surely must have come with a book of instructions which will tell you how to change the boot device.

If not I am sure you can get one from Asus, or can find info on a CD that came with the machine.
