Hello all,

My laptop (an ACER Aspire 1410) has 3 standard USB ports. For some reason, I can only use 1 of them. When I plug in any device into the other two nothing happens. It's an odd issue because the two ports don't even power the device that is plugged in! E.g. no charge on my mobile or no light on the optical mouse.

It's a 64bit machine and installed with Ubuntu 10.10. With my mouse plugged in this is what I get from the
'lsusb' command:

Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0458:003a KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems) NetScroll+ Mini Traveler / Genius NetScroll 120
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 064e:a102 Suyin Corp. Acer/Lenovo Webcam [CN0316]
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
As you can see, all the devices are listed.

I'm really lost as what to do next. Can anybody offer some suggestions? At least a pointer as to what I should try next...

Thanks in advance.
