In the process of playing around with themes a bit last night, I lost the ability to change how the gnome panel looks. Seems to be stuck with this basic grey look and no matter what theme i choose it stays the same. I did have emerald installed but i uninstalled it thinking it was the culprit.

I included a screenshot of my desktop so you can see what I mean.https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B_oHAQg8U7O5MDlkYWRkOTUtM2Q2NS00N2VhLWJmY zEtOTBmMDg2NjVjNWIx&hl=en

I'm sure I'm just missing something..

The exact same thing happened to me when I restarted after removing the ubuntuone-client package.

Re-installed it and the panels are back to normal. Wierd.

This happened to be before. Compiz caused the issue. Disabling compiz let me fix the theme.
