I already posted this question (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1689252&highlight=Icons), but it got lost in the archives.

How do I edit icons? Do I just go to theme I'm using and replace old pictures with new ones of the same name? Or is there some sort of box were you can change icons?

I use GIMP, too. My icons are just png files which GIMP is very happy with.
