Unable to start Ubuntu 10.10 under VirtualBox in WinXP

Dear Ubuntu Users,

I can't get Ubuntu v10.10 to start on VirtualBox running under Windows XP. The installation wen smoothly. However when I try to start the machine what I see is a mere black screen... The boot order is fine. However it seems strange that no data is read from the virtual hard drive (which is about 2.15 GB):

If you tried to install Ubuntu to a 2.15 gig virtual it is to small to begin with.

It has been set to 10GB initially with auto resize option. I'll try to install it once again.

I've reinstalled the system with fixed size of 10GB virtual hard drive. Everything works fine but I do not know what happened earlier. Regards
